Rosa For Maine
To get Maine working again, we need to change who we send to Augusta.
JAN. 19, 2010 - Rosa Scarcelli, Democratic candidate for governor, has raised $260,090 for her campaign, making her a leading fundraiser for the period that ended Dec. 31, according to the financial reports filed today with the state.

Except for a $16,300 personal loan from Scarcelli, all of the contributions came from a broad cross-section of individuals and businesses that are supporting her campaign.

"The strong support and encouragement Rosa has received for her campaign has exceeded all expectations and allowed us to more than meet our fundraising goal for the first quarter," said Patsy Wiggins, campaign manager. "It shows that people are ready for change and ready for new ideas that will get our state moving again."

Wiggins said Scarcelli's financial showing puts the campaign on solid footing to generate even more support and build a strong, grass-roots effort for the June Primary. "We set an ambitious goal in the first period of the campaign and we are happy to have exceeded it," she said. "We are already back at work on the campaign and fundraising effort with a similarly aggressive goal for the next period. Rosa is running against a field of better-known political veterans, and she knew she had to demonstrate that she is a determined, viable candidate in this race, and she's done it."

Scarcelli is raising money from private sources and is not accepting taxpayer money for her campaign. For more information, go to www.RosaForMaine.com
